Every part leaves powered up and measured

A wrong winding does not show. It shows the day the machine is already at the customer. That is why electrical testing is not a line item: it is the last step before packing, on every part.

Normative references

We build to customer specification. When the specification calls up a standard, the part is designed and tested accordingly and the test report says so.

EN IEC 61558

Safety of transformers, power supplies and combinations. The baseline reference for isolation and safety transformers.

Low Voltage Directive

Directive 2014 35 EU. A transformer is a component: CE marking stays with the maker of the finished appliance, we supply the data they need.

RoHS and REACH

Regulation 2011 65 EU and Regulation 1907 2006. Wire, insulation, resins and tapes are bought with a supplier declaration of conformity.

Thermal classes

Class B at 130 degrees, class F at 155 degrees, class H at 180 degrees. The class is chosen during design together with the permitted temperature rise.

Materials

  • Tape wound toroidal cores in grain oriented electrical steel
  • Ferrite, iron powder, sendust and nanocrystalline cores for inductors
  • Enamelled copper wire from 0.08 mm to 3.00 mm, thermal class per design
  • Polyester and nomex insulating tapes between layers
  • Low emission impregnating resins
  • Silicone flying leads, tinned faston tabs, terminal blocks

  • Part data sheet with values measured on the sample
  • Electrical test report per batch
  • Declaration of the materials used
  • Dimensioned drawing of the finished part
  • Batch traceability kept for at least five years
