One workshop, one person who answers

Toroidal Winding is the toroidal winding shop of Antonio Perin, in Carate Brianza, Italy. It exists to do one thing well: put copper on a toroidal core the way the customer needs it.

Why a small workshop

A toroidal transformer is made by hand more than it looks. The machine lays the wire, but the turns count, the order of the layers, where the shield runs and how the lead comes out stay decisions of the person building it.

A large organisation loses time on that. It has to open a job, route the drawing, wait for a machine slot. The result is that special parts, the twenty piece ones, become a problem to postpone.

Here the opposite happens. Minimum quantity is one piece, the sample is made within the week, and the person answering the phone is the person winding. That is why customers who arrive for a prototype stay for the run.

What is in the workshop

01

Toroidal shuttle winders

For laying wire onto a closed core with pitch and tension control. This is the machine that makes toroidal work possible.

02

Electrical test bench

Dielectric strength test, insulation measurement, turns ratio, no load current and ohmic resistance.

03

Impregnation

Resin treatment to lock the turns, improve heat transfer and take out the mechanical hum.

04

Finishing station

Taping, flying lead or faston terminations, potting, marking and packing.

How we work

The figure first, then the price

If a constraint does not add up we say so immediately, even when that means proposing a different part from the one requested.

One piece is worth a run

The prototype is built and tested by the same method as production. So what you test is what you receive.

What we measure stays written

Test values from the sample go into the data sheet and stay traceable by batch.

Where we are
